When I began the journey of motherhood, my goal was to lay a foundation of trust with my children. I wanted them to know their dad and I were there for them in every aspect of their lives: the good, the bad, the ugly, the easy stuff, the hard stuff, in times of rejoicing and yes, in the depth of their sin.
We can prepare our kids for college, but they might not go. We can model a healthy marriage to them, but they might stay single. We can model parenthood for them, but they may never have children of their own. The only thing we can be 100% certain of is that our children WILL face spiritual battles and we must prepare them to fight.
Writing this piece for Crosswalk.com was both enjoyable and challenging! While this advice would most certainly apply to daughters, I wrote this as the mother of two teenage boys. Here are my thoughts (as an imperfect mother with imperfect children) on “How to Equip your Son to Fight Spiritual Battles”.
